Is there a waiting list?

No. We endeavour to provide an appointment within 24-48 hours.

Do I need a referral?

A referral is not necessary, though if you have one bring it with you so that the physiotherapist can communicate with the referring practitioner if required.

How long are appointments?

Initial appointments last for 50 minutes; follow up appointments are either 30 or 50 minutes.

What should I wear?

For physiotherapy and massage please wear appropriate underwear as you will be required to undress so the part in question can be assessed. Otherwise please bring a pair of shorts.

Do I need to bring X-rays or medical notes with me?

If you have any reports or x-rays/scans it may be helpful if you bring them with you to the appointment.

What can I expect on my first appointment?

A thorough assessment will be undertaken. This will involve the physiotherapist asking a number of questions about your problem, and fully examining the area in question. A diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis will be discussed, as well as likely duration and frequency of treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on many factors, and all patients are individuals. Following your assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss the anticipated number of treatments. You will be re-assessed on each visit and if progress plateaus or no improvement is seen then this will be discussed and your treatment altered accordingly. If necessary, referral to a specialist can be arranged.

What are your payment terms?

Payment is made after each consultation, either by cash or cheque only.

Can I claim through Health Insurance?

The Performance clinic is registered with all major healthcare companies. Please contact your Health Insurance prior to receiving treatment.

Appointment cancellation or non-attendance

The Performance clinic operates a 24 hour cancellation policy. Cancellation within 24 hours of your appointment or non attendance will incur a cancellation charge of your appointment cost.

Please note cancellation charges are not covered by insurance.
